Doing Creative Work From Your Political Body

This book presents an approach to practice that bridges the divide between the inner and outer dimensions of creative and intellectual work. Rooted in contemporary socio-political realities, it foregrounds what is often private, fragmented, and difficult to articulate, asking how we can align our actions with our values and become more effective social and political agents. The publication functions as a framework, demonstration, and practical guide: offering language for engaging theory, a repeatable four-step process, and hands-on prompts for reflection. Drawing on design research, Black critical thought, and autoethnography, it models a decade of practice-led research developed across studios, classrooms, and research environments.
